AN OLYMPIC RESCUE! Did you know that the Olympics aren't just happening in Paris? NBC Sports in Stamford, CT, has increased its staff by over 1,000 people to broadcast full, round-the-clock coverage of Olympic programming during the games. Throughout the games, Food Rescue US - Fairfield County will rescue surplus food prepared by Flik Hospitality Group at the NBC Sports headquarters daily and deliver it to multiple social service agencies in the area. Stay tuned for more coverage! We are pleased to share our 2023 Impact Report, highlighting the accomplishments of the Food Rescue US community. We welcomed new sites, volunteers, food donors, receiving agencies, and supporters across the US. Together, we rescued 38+ million pounds of food, providing over 31 million meals to our partner agencies working to support people facing food insecurity. We are grateful for the commitment and dedication of our food donors, volunteer food rescuers, social service agencies, site directors and their teams, and financial donors. Together, we are making a difference! Check out the excellent work of our partner agency, La Soupe, Inc. Founder Chef Suzy DeYoung leads professional chefs in the Cincinnati area who donate their time to create meals with food recovered from local grocery stores, food manufacturers, and restaurants. Since its founding, La Soupe has rescued 1.3 million pounds of food, making over 1 million meals for the community. That's the power of food rescue!

Today, we are honored to ride along 🚗 with Ronald (RJ) Swist, Jr., the head of RJ's Mission Foundation in Charleston, SC! Their mission is to support veterans, active-duty members, first responders, and their families. We join RJ as he rescues over 100 pounds of food from his local Chick-fil-A and delivers it to Lowcountry Veterans Home, several firehouses, and a community refrigerator all in one day. Food Rescue US is proud to partner with local agencies like RJ’s Mission Foundation, which has deep insights and experience in serving their clients and communities.
