GLP-1 drugs were a focus of briefings on the Hill today. Here’s what we learned at the @Food Is Medicine Institute Congressional briefing on this topic:   💉>75% of people on GLP-1s do not stay on them long term. 🍎 Weight loss success requires lifestyle modifications (i.e., nutrition, physical activity) that can be sustained post-GLP use. 💵 The food sector has a role to play – but policies that incentivize healthy food consumption are needed, too.   Reach out to us to learn more about the latest science around GLP-1 use and the role of nutrition!

📢 ICYMI: FDA recently issued an update to its voluntary sodium reduction targets for the food industry. These draft targets are intended to address the excessive intake of sodium in the U.S., as 90% of Americans' intake surpasses recommended levels. 🧂What's more - findings from IFIC's recent spotlight survey indicate a gap in consumer understanding, as half of Americans don't know how much sodium is recommended to consume each day.
