A special recognition that is well-deserved. During this week's City Council Meeting, Councilwoman Latresa Akins-Wells and the governing body presented Mr. Jhyrod Finch with the #ForestPark Hometown Hero Certificate for the outstanding services he has provided within the community and for being a dedicated city employee. Mr. Finch's contributions include assisting with cutting grass for our legacy (senior) residents, maintaining lawns, coaching youth sports and much more. His goal is to one day become a motivational youth speaker. Thank you, Mr. Finch, for all of your passion, hard work and above all, selfless dedication. #OneForestPark #ClaytonCounty #HometownHero

Late post …. Thanks to an invite from my Leadership Clayton 2024 classmate, Charise Clay, MSHRM, I had the opportunity to participate in the City of Forest Park’s #OffTheRails trolley tour. The tour included such interesting stops as the Gillem Logistics Center, Downtown Forest Park, and the State Farmers Market. As an added bonus, I was on the tour with another Leadership Clayton 2024 classmate, the Mayor Angelyne Butler, MPA.

Councilmember Hector Gutierrez (Ward 3) brought the community together in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This year's annual festival was a wonderful way for families, friends and visitors alike to honor the rich traditions and contributions of the Hispanic/Latino community here in #ForestPark and across the nation. We truly appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with us, including Councilwoman Kimberly James (Ward 1) and Victoria Williams, Clayton County Public Schools Board Member. #OneForestPark #ClaytonCounty #HispanicHeritageMonth

Our very own Joshua Cox, Director of Information Technology, recently took part in a dynamic panel discussion on the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (#AI) and #cybersecurity at this year's ACT Student Workforce Summit held in #Atlanta. Facilitated by Jasen Jones, Program Director for ACT, the session focused on exploring the challenges organizations that face when it comes to bridging the skills gap and preparing their workforce for the future. Director Cox also shared some of the ways the city is investing in the latest technology to assist employees with data security, infrastructure and staff training. Way to go, Director Cox! #OneForestPark #ClaytonCounty #InformationTechnology
