FORGE is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization that connects well prepared startups creating exciting new physical products and components, with like minded, forward-thinking manufacturers, design firms, and engineers to support a self-fueling ecosystem of innovation. We operate on a startup first mentality, focused on making introductions that are right fit for the startup. The connections we make at FORGE help bring innovative products to market, create long lasting, mutually beneficial business relationships, and ultimately charge our local economy. FORGE is the nonprofit sister organization of Greentown Labs and has original roots in cleantech. However, our commitment to innovation has brought FORGE into a wide array of industries including aerospace, chemical and advanced materials, consumer products, robotics, defense, and agriculture water and waste. Our own Vice President, Adam Rodrigues represented FORGE. 🛠 This event, put together by David Femi, Senior Vice President & Business & Professional Banking Regional Manager of M&T of Fairfield County & Southern CT, brought together manufacturers and relevant ecosystem members to discuss the state of manufacturing in Connecticut. “M&T wants to be the premier bank for SME’s in the state” said Femmi. 🎤 The keynote for this event was Paul S. What an amazing experience on the CBIA Bus Tour! We had the pleasure of visiting some of Connecticut’s most forward-thinking manufacturers. Orange Research showcased their commitment to continuous improvement, while Bead Industries impressed us with their scrapless manufacturing processes. And who could forget PEZ Candy, bringing smiles to both kids and adults with their iconic products. We also visited the University of Bridgeport, where their collaboration with Goodwin University is preparing the next generation of manufacturing talent. A huge thank you to Paul S. Lavoie, Chris DiPentima, Joe Dias, Stacey Vendetta, and Beatriz Gutierrez for leading this event and making us feel so welcome.
