"YOU are in the driver's seat of your career, and only you." Shoutout to Julie Weber for delivering Forum 56's first talk of the school year! An alumna of UD, Julie shared her story of progressing from a psychology degree, to working in recruiting and HR, to eventually becoming Chief People Officer at Southwest Airlines. Her practical insights were a benefit to all in the room! Thank you, Julie! Interested in attending a Forum 56 event? We'd love to have you! Ben van Schaijik, Catherine Brecount and I are honored and eager to continue and expand the mission of Forum 56 - unlocking the potential of liberal arts students and connecting them with value-driven professionals. Thank you, Joe Dunikoski for inspiring the desire to cultivate a service-driven excellence, in myself and many others, at The University of Dallas through your work!!
Do you think a college education in the liberal arts is worth it? A lot of people say no. Here are just a few of my friends who graduated a few weeks ago who show that an education in reading, writing, and thinking translates into good jobs in the “real world:” Matthew Cichocki launching a killer investment tool with Novus Aurelius LLC Molly Zepeda as Director of Philanthropy at Heroic Media Luke Posegate at The Heritage Foundation in the President’s Office JP Rezendes as Area Manager at Amazon Joseph Moynihan selling at Roofsimple and my co-founder of Forum 24 (launching soon!) And many more. I’ve learned a ton from the past 4 years at The University of Dallas - and can’t wait to see where all my classmates end up. Follow Forum 56 and the team of Ben van Schaijik, Alethea Malloy, and Catherine Brecount running ops on the ground at UD next year to meet some incredible leaders that the liberal arts has helped form.
