Deeply grateful to Siteman Cancer Center Pedal the Cause & The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital for supporting our Team Science project focused on myeloproliferative neoplasms! We had a lot of fun showing everyone around the lab, demonstrating some of our fancy toys, and explaining how we hope to translate our research for the benefit of MPN patients!
Thank you to Dr. Stephen Oh, 2023 Pedal-funded researcher, for hosting a lab tour at Siteman Cancer Center yesterday for our staff, board, and top fundraisers!✨ It was incredible to see how Pedal dollars have impacted your #cancerresearch over the years.🧪 Hearing about the discoveries in your lab, especially in understanding the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms and secondary acute myeloid leukemia, was amazing. Kudos to you and your wonderful team! 👏 💙

On a recent Saturday, the North County Recreation Complex was filled with joyful anticipation as more than 200 birthing families took part in BJC Healthcare's Community Baby Shower. Made possible by donors through The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the free event featured 40+ community partners providing infant and maternal health-related resources, educational demonstrations on topics like safe sleep and mental health, as well as nutritious food, games, and supplies that promote health, wellness, and joy for the whole family. The Foundation shares a special thanks to our lead donors supporting the event — Healthy Blue Missouri /Elevance Health, Home State Health Plan, Inc., and UnitedHealthcare Community & State of Missouri — and our co-hosts at the Saint Louis County Department of Public Health.

As we look through these inspiring moments, we are so grateful for our partnership with Pedal the Cause in supporting research at Siteman Cancer Center. We all wished for better weather on ride day, but the vision and generosity of the #Pedalfamily come through clearly — rain or shine. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this year's event. We're looking forward to joining you again in 2025!
📸 Pedal the Cause 2024 event & team photos are LIVE! Relive the incredible moments from a heartfelt weekend that we’ll never forget. Last week was full of mission moments at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital. It takes a village and strong, authentic partnerships with organizations and community members to improve the health and well-being of our neighbors and our community. Special thanks to.... Brittany Hagarty, Todd Wilson, and the amazing team members at Dell Technologies and AHEAD for your philanthropic support and sweat equity to create a new BJC Community Wellness Hub and Technology and Learning Lab at the Tandy Community Rec Center last Wednesday. These spaces will increase access to digital literacy and education, telehealth, prevention-based wellness programming and resource connection for St. Louis families. Grateful to this group and our community partners (Simon Huang, Sheila Rabbitt and Commissioner Juakena Callion) for their shared commitment and leadership to address the digital divide across the City of St. Louis. Matthew Blakely, Jasmina Schue, and Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated for your continued trust and partnership to build a pathway of nursing leaders for our community at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College and ensure our nursing workforce is reflective of the communities we serve. We appreciate you "sharing your why" at last Thursday's Scholarship event! Healthy Blue Missouri (Katie Phillips), Home State Health Plan, Inc. (Nicci Lowrey), and UnitedHealthcare (Monica Ezue and Jamie Bruce) for your partnership, advocacy, and investment to improve Black infant and maternal health outcomes. On Saturday, BJC HealthCare, in collaboration with St. Louis County Department of Public Health and 40 community organizations and community-based doula organizations, celebrated 200 birthing families in North St. Louis County providing essential resources and education to support healthy pregnancies. Our mission is made possible thanks to the kind and compassionate support and partnership from many individuals, corporations, and foundations.
