The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties is a community-based, social impact investor.
About us
Since 1952, The Community Foundation has invested millions of dollars into Oneida and Herkimer counties. The Foundation partners with various nonprofits in order to make impactful investments in core areas of need, including economic development, education, arts and culture and health. For more than 60 years, The Foundation has created strong partnerships with donors and nonprofit organizations, community leaders and civic organizations. Because of our partners, we’ve been able to invest millions of dollars into our two counties. As a social impact investor focused on the priority needs in our community – economic development, education, health, arts and culture – we understand our continued success takes true partnerships and long-term commitments.

The $74 Million Cornhill Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative took another step forward by adding signage around the future home of the West Street Impact Center. This site is where the Mid-Utica Neighborhood Preservation Corporation (MUNPC), or Leisure Time Activity Center, building existed before it was demolished in May of 2024. The West Street Impact Center will serve as one of two anchors for this community’s historic transformation.
