You can help make a memorable Halloween for the children and families served by Four Oaks and AHNI! Trunk or Treat offers safe trick-or-treating for kids who might not otherwise be able to participate in this October tradition. Click here https://lnkd.in/gnMy3P6i to make a financial contribution for candy or to sign up to decorate and hand out candy at Trunk or Treat events on October 20 or 29.

At Four Oaks our mission is to recruit and retain stable, nurturing, and diverse foster and adoptive families to keep children safe from further trauma and assist them in their transition to permanency. We are, however, not a child placement agency, but we are always here to help and support you along the way! Learn more: http://ow.ly/eN8950MUyMT

This year we partnered with MONARCH RESEARCH PROJECT to distribute hundreds of trees to Four Oaks team members! What an amazing program! We are already excited to do it again next year!

Thank you to MBT Bank volunteers for participating in this year’s Day of Caring through United Way of North Central Iowa! The crew weeded and re-mulched plantings at our Mason City West residential treatment facility. This is MBT Bank’s second year helping beautify the West Campus. We are grateful for their continued support. At our Mason City East treatment facility—the former Indianhead Mansion—former Gerard employees gathered to paint the recreation room. In 2006, Four Oaks acquired Gerard Treatment Center. We are delighted these past staff members still feel connected to the ongoing work of serving children and families in North Central Iowa!

For the first time, Four Oaks held Legislative events in Ankeny and Dubuque! Four Oaks leaders met with local legislators in both areas to discuss successes and issues we are seeing around the state. The elected officials asked great questions and we had meaningful discussion that will hopefully lead to positive changes for the children and families we serve. Thank you to these senators and representatives for their time and attention over the past few weeks: -Rep. Brian Lohse -Kara Warme -Rep. Eddie Andrews -Rep. Heather Matson -Rep. Mary Madison -Sen. Sarah Trone Garriot -Rep. Lindsay James -Rep. Chuck Isenhart -Sen. Carrie Koelker
