Frameplay’s Jonathon Troughton caught up with AdExchanger’s Anthony Vargas at this year’s IAB #Playfronts to discuss the evolution of intrinsic in-game advertising. What was once considered an experimental channel is now accepted as a brand-safe, measurable channel for brands looking to reach scalable audiences. With demand rising for premium in-game ads, the industry is maturing, recognizing the need for synergy between the ad creatives and player experience. According to Jonathon, "Brands increasingly understand they need to respect the player experience, and game studios realize there has to be some give before ad dollars can start flowing." One major catalyst to support this synergy is the recent launch of the IAB's Creative Guidelines and Best Practices in Advertising in Gaming. Frameplay is proud to have helped lead these efforts on the IAB Creative Standards Task Force, which created these standards to address sustainability, higher quality requirements, and continuity among the greater advertising ecosystem.
