Celebrating Filipino-American Heritage Month:This October, we proudly continue to celebrate and honor 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨-𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 by recognizing the rich cultural traditions that have shaped the Filipino experience. Last week, during our All Staff call, we had the honor of hearing from our colleague, Lea Davis, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, who shared her deeply personal connection to 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, the national dance of the Philippines. Lea spoke passionately about how the traditional folk music accompanying 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 was the same music her family grew up listening to, making this cultural expression even more meaningful. The vibrant and graceful 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, performed with bamboo poles, has been a symbol of 𝐣𝐨𝐲, 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞, and 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 for over a century, standing as a testament to the strength of Filipino identity. More than just a dance, 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 embodies the spirit of 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, and 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 that the 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨-𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 continues to uphold today. Thank you, Lea, for sharing this beautiful piece of your heritage with us. 🎥 Watch and Listen: Check out the Tinikling performance here: https://lnkd.in/grD_MK-P #FilipinoAmericanHeritageMonth #Tinikling #CulturalPride #Resilience #FilipinoCulture #CelebrateDiversity
