At Freedom From Within, we am are deeply committed to the mission of preparing individuals in custody for a successful return to society. As release day approaches, the problems awaiting prisoners on the other side of the gate can be overwhelming. For years, they’ve been told when to eat, what to wear, and where to go. Now suddenly, they will have to make decisions on their own. At Freedom From Within, our dedicated staff and volunteers understand these challenges. We are devoted to helping men and women leave prison with a positive outlook and the tools they need to succeed. We provide guidance, support, and practical resources to ensure they can navigate the world beyond the prison walls. Our programs focus on building confidence, developing life skills, and fostering a sense of purpose. We believe in the potential of every individual, and we work tirelessly to ensure that their transition is as smooth as possible. Together, we can give them the hope and support they need to rebuild their lives and become contributing members of society. Heavenly Father, Sanctify every prison cell with Your light, bringing hope, peace, and comfort. May the darkness never lead to despair. Have mercy on those serving life sentences; let them know You as their Savior. Help us to support, not condemn, these individuals. They need our care and love. Remember the wrongfully accused and set them free. Bless the families of individuals in custody with support and remove any stigmas from their children. May they always remember Your unwavering love and Your constant presence beside them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Reflecting on his experience, Evigan shared, "I have gained tremendous value. It made me more aligned with God and it added tremendous value to my character. And I'm just grateful for it." Evigan opens up about one of the most heart-wrenching aspects of his past: "My children, I mean, I left them very small." These words carry the weight of a father's remorse and longing. This deep sense of regret is common among individuals in custody, as they come to terms with the impact their absence has on their families. Being away from their families and loved ones is one of the hardest challenges they face. The separation creates a void filled with guilt, remorse, and the longing for missed milestones and lost time. They miss birthdays, graduations, and the everyday moments that define family life. This distance can strain relationships, making it difficult to maintain bonds with spouses, children, and other family members. Individuals in custody often grapple with the fear of being forgotten or replaced, adding to their emotional burden. They struggle with the desire to be present and supportive while being physically unable to do so. Programs like Freedom From Within offer a lifeline, helping individuals in custody find purpose and strength in their faith, build character, and lay the foundations for a better future. By emphasizing spiritual discipline and personal growth, these programs provide a path to redemption and renewal, allowing individuals to reconnect with their loved ones in a meaningful way and rebuild their lives from the inside out.
