If you want to feel steadier, stronger and excited (instead of wobbly and nervous) about hard conversations with your team, then come along to our next organizational equity clinic! Do you supervise at least one person? Are you interested in liberatory supervision practices that balance hierarchy and co-creation? Do you sometimes encounter discomfort around race in supervision? Would you like to feel more confident in giving and receiving challenging feedback that is truthful, direct, and builds or maintains connection? If any of these apply, this clinic has something for you. Come and hear Sara Joffe and Amadee Braxton share their insights from years of working with teams in organizations just like yours. And...if you're working on the election, first godspeed, and second this is after the election ;)

The Shared Power Podcast just dropped a bonus episode! Seasoned consultant, Genita Robinson, joins Mia Henry for an in-depth conversation about her work supporting nonprofit organizations and boards. In this episode, we dig into the very common fear of losing power and control that’s sometimes hidden behind “urgent” decision-making, the importance of allowing for dissent and disagreement, and what to do if your Executive Committee is making all the decisions behind closed doors. https://lnkd.in/gSMTjuds

If your group is struggling to grapple with Gaza and Israel, my friends at Dragonfly Partners may be able to help. Dragonfly is currently advising leaders on how they might resolve internal fights and make difficult choices in this particularly fraught moment in progressive organizing and advocacy space. Since October 7 some of their clients have moved toward dialogue, others have worked internally to produce solidarity statements, and still others are torn or frozen about how or even whether to continue working together. Dragonfly is deeply committed to the notion that one size does not fit all when it comes to conflict; less-powerful groups get hurt when dialogue is premature, and everyone gets hurt when there's an unnecessary fight. Beyond navigating conflict and #leadershipcoaching, Dragonfly designs and facilitates #strategicplanning, #racialjustice transformation, and whatever it takes to help change-making organizations get unstuck and rush forward into the breach. I trust Dragonfly Partners Rebecca Subar Aarati Kasturirangan Allison Budschalow (she/her/hers) deeply because we all understand that power is almost always at the center of conflict. They help our people determine what approach to internal tension is strategic, ethical, and possible. Dragonfly has a liberatory approach to conflict and I am here. for. it. We recently conducted a short survey to find out how current participants are experiencing the new Social Justice in Public Libraries EDI program from Freedom Lifted. As a reminder to all library types, RAILS is offering an exciting resource to help address equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in libraries. This asynchronous course is a flexible learning opportunity that is suited both for individual learners or a group learning environment. This resource is available to anyone working in a RAILS library. Libraries are encouraged to utilize this as it will be offered for a limited time. ➡ Access the course at https://lnkd.in/gaXGrbm6.

Just one week from today, I'll be joining Virtuous and Jon McCoy, CFRE + Becky Endicott, CFRE for a conversation on How to Manage Change in a Rapidly Evolving World. This summit promises to be dynamic, thought-provoking, and inspiring. The speaker and panelist line up is amazing, the topics are timely, and registration is FREE. 🙌🏾 My session is a panel and ya'll my know I do not like panels AND YET, I agreed to be on this one because Jon and Becky are just that good. I know they will moderate in a way that creates space for panelists and ideas to complement, not compete, with each other. Their working hosting the We Are For Good community has made me a forever fan. Connect virtually with thousands of like-minded fundraising leaders who are building better systems and strategies to expand their reach to unlock generosity. Do it from your desk. Don't pay a dime. Register today and join me next week.
