Building an urban agriculture sector that provides a fair, healthy, sustainable food system for all Arlingtonians.
About us
We envision a future of healthy, sufficient and affordable sustainable foods for all in the Arlington community. Farmers markets, community and home gardens all will play a role in feeding our community as well as grocers, restaurants, institutions and suppliers. Maintaining regional food-producing farms is key to fresh, local foods. Governmental policies and regulations, as well as commercial, institutional and individual sustainable food practices, jointly protect and enhance our sustainable food supplies from both within Arlington County and in our region.

Terrific volunteers! Thanks for joining us in the dirt!
Check out these superstar volunteers gardening in action! 🤩 Yesterday, our awesome team members brought out their green thumbs and teamed up with Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture at their Plot Against Hunger site in the Arlington House Kitchen Garden. They pulled weeds from the garden, laid down cardboard and mulch like pros, and watered the growing corn and strawberries. Any crops grown will be donated to Arlington County food pantries, helping families in need. Thank you to our team for jumping into this opportunity and for accomplishing so much. We are so proud to be part of this fantastic community effort! 🌽🍓

We were thrilled to honor Audrey Morris with the Golden Radish Award at our annual meeting. Audrey brought her experience of farming in Michigan to Arlington and jumped right in to cultivating urban agriculture here for over 10 years. She served on the County's Urban Agriculture Task Force and then formed the Friends of Urban Agriculture around her dining room table. She served as our first President as we became a 501c3 and then as our Treasurer, applying her CPA skills to building our organization. She also organized everything from Garden Talks at the library to organizing seed and seedling giveaways to tending a Plot Against Hunger Garden at First Presbyterian Church. As Audrey eases into retirement, we are grateful she will remain active with FOUA. Thank you, Audrey!! We invite your honor Audrey with a holiday donation: https://lnkd.in/eVZdtutM
