The private health sector is poised for a recovery in 2025 in Argentina, bolstered by President Javier Milei's economic reforms and deregulation measures. While financial conditions remain challenging, efforts to privatize and deregulate social security are expected to benefit major HMOs, with signs of recovery in pharmacy demand. Continued economic stability could lead to increased investment, especially in med-tech, supporting the growth of private clinics and hospitals. 👉 Firms should align with the improving conditions in the healthcare market, leveraging new opportunities for expansion and innovation to drive success in a transforming economy. 👉 Firms should tap into the optimistic outlook of the private health sector through strategic investments in med-tech, as deregulation and economic reforms pave the way for growth. 👉 Firms can benefit from privatization and regulation shifts, ensuring their organization is well-positioned to capitalize on the evolving landscape of healthcare in 2025. Malaysia’s 2025 budget is the largest in the nation’s history. The 2025 budget focuses on sectoral growth and a range of policy reforms to improve finances. Business implications: B2B and B2G firms should take advantage of the government's plan to boost spending on education, healthcare, defense, and transport infrastructure and services. 👉 Companies should consider capitalizing on the government’s strong emphasis on developing rural facilities in the transport, education, and healthcare sectors. 👉 However, firms must also prepare for some pushback on pricing, as the government’s plan to sharply increase minimum wages is likely to increase labor costs and prompt customers to seek efficiency gains. For B2C firms, consumer spending among low- and middle-income segments, which remained resilient in 2024, is expected to stay strong in 2025, bolstered by the government’s continued subsidies and wage increases for these groups. 👉 Conversely, while high-income earners will continue to increase their spending, the government's plans to reduce subsidies and raise taxes for this segment are likely to make them more price-sensitive in 2025 compared to 2024. 👉 Executives should expect the lower end of the high-income group to be the most affected, potentially leading to some degree of trading down in their spending behaviors. Kazakhstan’s referendum results back nuclear power, but near-term energy security challenges will persist amid growing demand. Building a nuclear power plant will require Kazakhstan to carefully balance regional power dynamics. Business implications: 👉 Given that building a fully operational nuclear power plant will take several years, businesses should note that the risk of unscheduled power outages during winter, potentially disrupting business operations, will remain high. 👉 The modernization of existing energy infrastructure and the construction of a new power plant will require substantial public investments, leading to gradual cuts in subsidies and an increase in energy prices, which is expected to impact operational costs for businesses and household incomes as utility prices rise over time. 👉 While skepticism surrounds the establishment of an international consortium with the presence of Western companies, their potential involvement in the project could unlock new opportunities for contractor services. The UAE is expecting a balanced budget in 2025 as spending hits all-time high. Capital expenditure increased by nearly half in H1 2024 and is expected to continue to rise through to the end of 2025 as the country progresses large-scale infrastructure projects. Business implications: 👉 MNCs will benefit from increased government spending and substantial capital expenditure driven by large-scale infrastructure projects, leading to more opportunities through an expanded PPP pipeline and investment inflows. 👉 However, MNCs will face challenges such as competition, skilled labor shortages, and cost-efficiency pressures that may lead to price reductions in public spending in 2025. 👉 Growth in non-oil sectors like tourism and construction, along with rising healthcare investments, will provide additional prospects. While the rise in financial investments reflects a broader push for economic diversification and infrastructure resilience. 👉 A stronger economic outlook is likely to drive higher business activity, prompting companies to spend more on large projects, expand workforce, and leverage strong consumer demand for growth. Vietnam is showing strong signs of a durable economic rebound. As economic conditions continue to improve, GDP growth will near historical levels. Business implications: 👉 B2C companies should ensure their sales and marketing organizations are prepared to capitalize on stronger consumer spending growth in 2025 as compared to 2024. The services sector, which has seen rapid spending growth this year, is expected to continue outperforming next year, supported by increased tourist inflows. Having said that, given the accumulated cost pressures over the last three years, firms can expect low-income and lower-middle-income consumers to remain somewhat price sensitive in the coming quarters. 👉 B2B firms should prepare for continued growth in manufacturing, supported by strong domestic demand and increased foreign investment. Companies serving Vietnam's infrastructure sector should capitalize on the significant government spending on transportation infrastructure, which encompasses the construction of expressways, high-speed rail lines, and a new international airport. Additionally, construction firms should expect the development of affordable housing and industrial parks to be major growth drivers in 2025.
