2025 is a major deadline for many of the industries pledges and commitments!
7 years ago, on May 24th 2017, 36 major textile and apparel brands and retailers signed a pledge, agreeing that 100% of the cotton they use would come from sustainable sources by 2025 (defined below). The 36 companies who signed this pledge, called the sustainable cotton communiqué, were the following: ASOS, EILEEN FISHER, Greenfibres, H&M, IKEA, Kering, Levi's, Lindex, M&S, Nike, Sainsbury's, F&F at Tesco, Woolworths, Adidas, A-Z, BikBOk, Burberry, Burton Snowboards, Carlings, Coyuchi, Cubus, Days like This, Dressmann, Hanky Panky, House of Fraser, Indigenous Designs, KappAhl, Kathmandu, Mantis World, MetaWear, Otto Group, prAna, SkunkFunk, Timberland, Urban, Volt and Wow As we approach these commitment deadlines, its exciting to hindsight the progress made, and the hurdles still to overcome.
