Recent data presented at #AABIP24 by Dr. Michael Pritchett, DO, MPH suggests Aliya #PEF energy with a single electrode is feasible and safe to use near sensitive structures.* The #AFFINITY study evaluated the safety and feasibility of #Aliya PEF treatment of metastatic tumors within the lung. 21 patients underwent the Aliya PEF procedure, 19 utilizing a transbronchial procedure. 32 total tumors were treated with 100% procedural success, including tumors bordering fissures or adjacent to the pleura. There were no PEF-related serious adverse events (SAEs), and there was no impact to the initiation of the planned therapies. Dr. Andrew Klobuka from Drexel University College of Medicine performed a soft tissue #Ablation in the liver with the Aliya #PEF System. The patient was diagnosed with Stage B #HepatocellularCarcinoma with a lesion that was 1.8 x 1.5cm and had not received systemic therapy. During the procedure, five activations of #Aliya PEF energy were delivered percutaneously, ablating 100% of the lesion. No adverse events were noted, no systemic therapy was given, and the 5-month follow-up visit showed a decrease in the lesion size (6mm).
