About us
In 2016, we set out to create a new voice for the gas compression industry. Our goal was simple: Document and catalog the technologies and methods required to keep gas compression equipment running before this information is lost in the shuffle of market consolidation, retirement, and change – and have fun in the process. The result is Gas Compression Magazine. Gas Compression Magazine is devoted to the products, systems, and technologies associated with the global gas compression market. Downstream, midstream, or upstream, if it affects gas compression, you’ll read about it in Gas Compression Magazine. Published monthly, Gas Compression Magazine is available for print and digital delivery, ensuring that our global readership receives the magazine in their preferred format. Free to subscribe and free to renew, our subscribers are the people who purchase, package, manufacture, maintain, and teach gas compression products, systems, and technologies. Collectively, the Gas Compression Magazine team has more than 125 years of industry experience. Each month, our team provides insight and information on the products, systems, and technologies utilized in gas compressor applications today. We look at stalwart equipment that has been in operation for generations. We examine new products and technologies entering the market. We provide technical information on specific systems and technologies used in the day-to-day operation of gas compression equipment. In addition to the monthly delivery of Gas Compression Magazine, we offer up-to-the-minute news and information on the web (www.gascompressionmagazine.com); twice-monthly email delivery of the GCM Reader (your first look at upcoming features, industry news, and other resources); and the only Spanish-language journal devoted to gas compression (Gas Compression Magazine en español).

Addressing Pain Points Of Anti-Surge And Load Sharing Control In Centrifugal Compressors Control systems play a critical role in the performance of centrifugal compressors and the efficiency of the processes that they drive. Surge prevention from reversing process flows can result in undesirable outcomes, including damage to the compressor and unscheduled downtime. A compressor's surge point is dependent on several variables and notoriously difficult to predict with accuracy, particularly in applications with variations in fluid composition and temperature, or where inlet guide vanes (IGV) are used for control. To minimize the risk of surging, many operators are forced to operate compressors conservatively, which results in lower efficiency, higher energy consumption, and increased emissions.
