🎬✨ What an Incredible Evening at our FRONTLINE Event! ✨🎬 On Wednesday, we gathered for an engaging discussion featuring Academy Award-winning Editor-In-Chief Raney Aronson-Rath and the talented filmmakers behind FRONTLINE's powerful fall documentaries. They shared captivating insights into the filmmaking process, including the journeys and challenges they faced along the way, inspiring all of us with their dedication and resilience. It was a privilege to see our GBC members connect with fellow council members, engage with FRONTLINE filmmakers, and experience firsthand what truly makes GBH unique. And who could resist a selfie with the Oscar statuette from 20 Days in Mariupol? A delightful treat that reminded us of the incredible impact of storytelling in our community.🏆🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an unforgettable night! Let’s keep the momentum going as we head into a pivotal season! 🎉 #Frontline #GBH #DocumentaryFilm #CommunityEngagement #OscarWinner #FilmAndNews

There's at least one fan of GBH's MASTERPIECE...in space! ICYMI, astronaut (and #AllCreaturesPBS superfan) Sunita Williams Zoomed into GBH News' "Boston Public Radio" last week from the International Space Station to talk about a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration mission that unexpectedly went from eight days to eight months. When she's note working, she conjures the coziness of the Dales with an episode of "All Creatures Great and Small." Astronauts, they're just like us!

This year, the American Archive of Public Broadcasting unveiled its Hispanic Heritage Collection, preserving the rich history of Latino activism through media! 💡🌟 Why This Matters to Local Businesses: Corporate sponsors of GBH play a pivotal role in supporting community media projects, ensuring that diverse voices continue to thrive. Together, we can foster a more inclusive environment and elevate the stories that shape our communities! 💬🌟 Take your company’s DEI commitment from intent to action with a GBH sponsorship. Multiplatform packages are available. #HispanicHeritage #CommunitySupport #CorporateSponsorship #CulturalEmpowerment
Beginning in the late 1960s, Latino activists associated with farmworker, Chicano, and Puerto Rican movements spearheaded efforts to establish bilingual community radio stations in rural locales and television programming in urban centers to address the needs of Spanish-language speakers. Like many archival programs, these programs were at risk of being lost to time. The American Archive of Public Broadcasting, a collaboration between GBH and Library of Congress, launched its Hispanic Heritage Collection this year, with thousands of digitized programs associated with these movements, including nearly 10,000 radio broadcasts from "Radio Bilingüe" and KDNA in Washington State’s Yakima Valley, and pioneering television programs like the children’s series "Carrascolendas" from Austin, Texas, "Acción Chicano" from Los Angeles, "Realidades" from New York, the Emmy-winning "Images/Imagenes" from the New Jersey Network, GBH’s "La Plaza," and much more. Join us in celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures, histories, and stories that make up Hispanic heritage. In acknowledgement of Indigenous Peoples' Day, we're reminded of the significance of authentic representation and storytelling in media. GBH brings this to the forefront with "Molly of Denali," a groundbreaking PBS KIDS series that introduces audiences to the rich culture, values, and stories of Native Alaskan people. With a corporate sponsorship of "Molly of Denali", you can align your business with diverse storytelling, and reach an engaged audience of parents who trust PBS KIDS' educational content - and by extension the sponsors who make it possible. It's our 73rd birthday, and we're celebrating the occasion with a special #GBHMural! Named for the Great Blue Hill site of its original transmitter, GBH traces its roots to the Lowell Institute’s mission to provide “public lectures for the benefit of the citizens of Boston.” Ralph Lowell, Lowell Institute Trustee, Boston banker, philanthropist, and GBH’s founding father, championed broadcasting these lectures on the radio, so the Lowell Institute incorporated GBH in 1951. GBH’s first radio broadcast of a Boston Symphony Orchestra concert aired today. Thank you Ralph Lowell! #PublicMedia #RalphLowell
