This week’s spooky #MemberMonday Spotlight: Brent Mangum, MPA, PHR! (the ketchup bottle) How long have you been a GBR SHRM member? 2 years What is your functional HR role? Talent/Workforce Development What has been your favorite Chapter Meeting topic and why? Making Culture Work. Every organization should have an HR strategy that embraces the differences that this new talent market presents in order to increase workplace happiness/loyalty and reduce employee/client turnover. Rebecca did a great job of showing how workplace assessments can provide a road map on how to build healthy cultures where every team member plays a part. What do you like most about being a part of GBR SHRM? I pride myself on being coachable and open-minded. HR roles ideally attract that same mentality, and I've made great friendships within the GBR SHRM Family. Why did you join GBR SHRM? The folks in SHRM represent a concentrated think tank that is largely responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining talent in our region. At a granular level, we all bear the burden of putting politics aside and progressing our city forward. GBR SHRM provides the platform where these movers and shakers can support each other so that our community can flourish and meet its potential. #HRProfessionals #SHRM
