💥 #FlexCrash updates! Last week we celebrated our third General Assembly at Luleå University of Technology facilities in Sweden to review the work done and discuss about the next steps and actions to tackle during the upcoming months. During the assembly, we celebrated our first public conference, "Shaping the future for a safer and lighter #automotive industry." 🚘 This event highlighted the groundbreaking work of the project, particularly in advanced materials characterization, crash simulation, virtual testing, and the development of crash-tolerant structures. Participants had the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge approaches and innovative methodologies, focusing on #lightweight and #sustainable materials poised to revolutionize the automotive sector. We also count on the participation of our sister projects SALEMA EU, SALIENT Project, and FLAMINGo Project H2020. 🙌 Thank you to Jörgen Kajberg, Simon Jonsson, and the entire team at Luleå University of Technology for their support in hosting our assembly and the conference. Happy to share our latest publication about the up-scaled thermo-electrochemical cell prototyped during the MAGENTA EU project (https://lnkd.in/d2xzfE8Y). The mission of this research is to pave the way for the adoption of thermo-electrochemical energy harvesting systems based on ionic liquids in large-scale applications. In the paper we show the feasibility of building a thermo-electrochemical cell at a scale compatible with the construction of a thermoelectric generator. In particular, the design challenges and the key performance limitations that need to be addressed for scaling up such a system in real-world applications are discussed. Join the webinar to hear more about our EIT Raw Materials project SOMA - Lightweight solutions for e-mobility by AM of soft magnetic alloys.   A talk will be dedicated to the Permanent Magnet assisted Synchronous Reluctance Motor (PMaSynRM) we have contributed to design by 2D and 3D modelling. In this motor the content of rare earths is reduced through embedding small amounts of permanent magnets into the topology optimized rotor structure.

Huge pleasure to have our partners in our city!   Besides the usual proactive discussion, the meeting has been enriched by the Workshop titled “SOLiDIFY Gap Analysis” led by our LCA Specialist Maddalena Rugolo. Great discussion among the partners on how making the SOLiDIFY project technology compliant with the new EU Regulation, with a special focus on solid-state battery recycling approaches.
