Where Tomorrow's Workforce Begins
About us
Genesys Works is a national nonprofit that provides pathways to career success for students from underserved communities. We accomplish this through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. The Genesys Works program consists of 8 weeks of technical and professional skills training, a year-long paid corporate internship, college and career coaching, and alumni support to and through college. Genesys Works is catalyzing change by opening doors of opportunity for underrepresented students. Our goal is to move more students out of poverty and into professional careers, creating a more productive and diverse workforce in the process. 2019 marked the expansion of Genesys Works to NYC, with our inaugural cohort of young professionals interning across the following 13 corporate partners: BlankRome; Fried Frank; Kirkland & Ellis; Lazard; Mizuho Americas; Per Scholas; Ropes & Gray; Salesforce; SEO; Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp.; Warner Media; and Weil Gotshal. Since Genesys Works' founding in 2002, we have grown to serve over 4,400 students annually in Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, the Bay Area, the National Capital Region, and now, New York City.

The Outstanding Commitment Awards recipients honors three partners who have gone above and beyond for Genesys Works NYC’s Young Professionals and mission over the past five years. The EGF Accelerator is a long-term nonprofit incubator and champion of new initiatives and leaders working to improve education equity. Genesys Works NYC and Executive Director Mike Gross are part of the EGF network and have received exceptional consultation and guidance on areas like internships, board development, and leadership. Cynthia Rivera Weissblum and the EGF Accelerator team deeply care about the future of NYC and display their commitment by leveraging their expertise and connecting changemakers. New Visions for Public Schools provides educators with the tools, resources, and support to build and continuously improve strong and responsive systems. Jennie Soler-McIntosh, Kimberley Cambridge Scott, and E. Lydell Carter have been incredible thought partners from GWNYC’s earliest days, shaping how we work with schools and how we keep YPs at the center of our work. Pace University shares our commitment to providing hands-on learning that can lead to transformative futures. Pace has been our home for in-person Summer Training sessions since the beginning and more recently our home for Breaking Through. Their welcoming atmosphere has led to meaningful cohort connections and friendships that have helped foster belonging and trust in the Genesys Works community. Thank you President Marvin Krislov, Jean Cusick Gallagher, and the whole Pace team! We have immense gratitude for The EGF Accelerator, New Visions, and Pace University for their belief in the impact that Genesys Works NYC can have on young people. We are honored to do this important work alongside them. #BreakingThrough2024 #GenesysWorksNYC
