The end of my first time at The Badge Summit @ CU Boulder ! It’s been a wonderful three days, learning some fascinating things, just shouting out a couple of the brilliant presentations I heard- Duncan Cox talking about badging happening in the Scouts, which I think is such a fantastic idea. Deanna Parker, M.S. talking about credentialing the US military, brilliant stuff. It was wonderful to finally meet some people in person that I’ve spoken to on Zooms and LinkedIn for a while! Don Presant and Stephen P. Buckley an absolute pleasure! A huge thank you to Noah Geisel for organising such a brilliant, well-run event. Thrilled to be able to say that I will be attending and speaking at the 2024 Badge Summit in Boulder, Colorado. My 30 min speech will take place on Monday August 5th 2-2.30pm. It's titled: The Value of Credentials. Credentials as a term has a number of very varied definitions and comprises a lot of misunderstandings, this session is going to explore what credentials are, and the various types of value that can be applied to them. Not all credentials are equal, but they all have some type of value. This session will explore that value, utilising global research to delve deeper into what are credentials, the types of value they have and how can they be best utilised.
