In Georgia, we have zero tolerance for unemployment fraud, and anyone who exploits the system will be held accountable. Recently, we partnered with the USDOL Office of Inspector General (OIG) and a coalition of other federal law enforcement agencies to fully investigate and bring to justice a woman who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for orchestrating one of the largest UI fraud schemes in history during the COVID-19 era. We’ve seen firsthand the harm that unemployment fraud inflicts on hardworking Georgians, and we are unwavering in our mission to root out and prosecute these criminals to the fullest extent of the law. Our top priority is to protect the integrity of Georgia’s unemployment system and preserve this vital safety net for those who truly need it. Fraud has no place in our state, and we will work relentlessly to investigate any attempts to exploit our system and bring to justice anyone who betrays the trust of Georgia’s citizens.
