Researchers at Georgia Tech have developed a pacifier designed to monitor a newborn baby's electrolyte levels in real time. Current methods necessitate drawing blood multiple times a day, but this new technology could reduce the need for invasive monitoring systems when caring for tiny patients in the NICU. — https://lnkd.in/evDQBybG

Jocelyn Le, a 4th-year Computational Media major, is one of five students representing Georgia Tech at this weekend’s 2025 ACC Meeting of the Minds Undergraduate Research Symposium, celebrating undergraduate research and creative inquiry at the 18 Atlantic Coast Conference member schools. Jocelyn studies the use of serious (video) games as a tool for advocacy, with Allegra Smith. Video games are a site for narrative and decision-making to allow players to engage in situations to which they might not normally be exposed. Jocelyn has created a game that challenges players to empathize with characters and be educated about the effects of various modes of gender-based discrimination. #WHM #WomensHistoryMonth Read more about Georgia Tech at the Meeting of the Minds: https://lnkd.in/eQNfT2W5

My time at the AI and Future of Finance Conference at Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business last week was a formative experience — not just because of the technical insights, but for the thoughtful conversations and sense of community it helped create. I’m especially grateful to Agam Shah and Michael Galarnyk for sponsoring my attendance through the Machine Learning for Financial Markets VIP program and the Georgia Tech Center for Finance and Technology. Having familiar faces in the room — and thoughtful introductions to others — made all the difference. A couple of moments that stood out to me from the conference: ▪️ Deep Ratna Srivastav offered a forward-looking perspective on how financial institutions are assessing the ROI of AI initiatives. It was refreshing to see such a grounded, business-first view. ▪️ Tianjiao (Tina) Z. from BlackRock shared insightful real-world LLM applications in investment management. Our conversation afterward about BlackRock’s rotational programs was incredibly helpful — thank you! ▪️ Jonathan Regenstein's insightful workshop on Snowflake's data cloud environment and Analyzing Earnings Transcripts with LLMs. ▪️ The "Future of Gen AI" panel moderated by Mark Riedl brought together Sudipta Sengupta (Amazon Web Services), Robbie Birbeck (Salesforce), and Allen Stewart (Microsoft). It also inspired me to start the Salesforce Agentforce Specialist Certification – currently free through their AI for All initiative. ▪️ The C-Suite Panel with leaders from Invesco US, Truist, ICE, and the NY Fed offered a real-world lens into scaling AI responsibly in large institutions. It was also inspiring to see leaders like Deepika Mahajan, CFA and Shannon Johnston, women shaping the future of finance. Special appreciation to Dean Anuj Mehrotra for fostering an environment where students weren’t just welcomed but actively encouraged to engage and contribute! I’m especially grateful to Nancy Razzouk, CFA , Tianjiao (Tina) Z., and Anqi Zou for generously sharing such thoughtful, practical guidance on navigating careers at the intersection of finance and AI with a fellow jacket. And of course, a shoutout to Astrid Cuellar-Benitez, Anjali Shajan, and Arnav Hiray for being such friendly faces throughout the event, and to Arayna Saxena, Jeet Dekivadia, Ujaan Rakshit, Sarvesh Tiku, who made this experience memorable! To everyone who made time to share a kind word, a story, or a piece of advice — thank you! Check out my medium article on this experience! https://lnkd.in/dzyGyXVQ #AIinFinance #GeorgiaTech #FinTech #MachineLearning #FinancialServices #AIConference
