About us
The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting better understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues. GMF does this by supporting individuals and institutions working in the transatlantic sphere, by convening leaders and members of the policy and business communities, by contributing research and analysis on transatlantic topics, and by providing exchange opportunities to foster renewed commitment to the transatlantic relationship. In addition, GMF supports a number of initiatives to strengthen democracies. Founded in 1972 through a gift from Germany as a permanent memorial to Marshall Plan assistance, GMF maintains a strong presence on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to its headquarters in Washington, DC, GMF has six offices in Europe: Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Belgrade, Ankara, and Bucharest. GMF also has smaller representations in Bratislava, Turin, and Stockholm.

German Marshall Fund of the United States reposted this
📢 I am thrilled to share that my coauthored article, written as part of the German Marshall Fund's Policy Network Fellowship, has just been published! Partnering with my colleague from Ukraine, I faced the rewarding challenge of tackling a complex issue—Armenia's declining democratic landscape—while balancing broader regional dynamics. We worked hard to find a topic that reflected our national contexts, and navigating a strict word limit made us refine our arguments to ensure every word had an impact. Our article, "The Politics of Imitation," examines how imitation shapes democratic and governance structures in these countries. This fellowship provided us with a unique opportunity to collaborate across borders and contribute to a timely and vital conversation for the future of governance. I'm immensely grateful to the entire GMF team for the opportunity and support throughout this process and for my coauthors' insight and collaboration. Writing this piece was challenging, but seeing it published has been incredibly rewarding. I'm looking forward to continuing the work! #GMF #PolicyNetworkFellowship #Democracy #Policy #Collaboration #Armenia #Ukraine #CivicEngagement #Leadership German Marshall Fund of the United States
