Retreats are a big part of our company culture at Aleph. Last week, we all united in beautiful Mendoza, Argentina 🇦🇷 for an action-packed week of reflecting, planning, and team building. These retreats get harder and harder to organize as the team continues to grow, but that won’t stop us from keeping the tradition alive. Planning has already begun for our next adventure in early 2025. If you have any suggestions for retreat-friendly locations and lodging, let us know in the comments below. 👇 P.S. We’re #hiring. Check our careers page for opportunities to join team Aleph. Who knows, you could be in our next team photo! #RemoteWork

Web-based dashboards are here, but there is much more beneath the surface than just another FP&A dashboarding and data visualization tool. 👇 As the FP&A tech stack becomes increasingly diverse, there is a growing divide between spreadsheets, web-based software, and traditional BI tools. All of these point solutions have strengths and use cases, but the challenge lies in their lack of integration together, leading to fragmented data, inefficiencies, and mismatched insights. With the addition of dashboards, finance teams are in complete control to consolidate, work with, and share business data using spreadsheets—and now web-based data visualization and intelligence tools. Spreadsheet power users can stay within their comfort zone of using Excel and Google Sheets for most of their core FP&A needs like generating financial reports and analyzing results. Dashboards provide a unified experience, accessing and querying the same data layer to organize, spotlight, and present metrics via the web app, such as executive summaries, department-level OpEx reviews, and so much more... The possibilities are almost endless with the breadth and depth of Aleph’s 150+ no-code data connectors. If the data lives in Aleph, you can work with it using spreadsheets and visualize it using dashboards. Check out the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/eED6JRUC

"Along with saving us a lot of time, Aleph has made the deliverables process a lot smoother while giving us more confidence in the numbers,” said Joe Dizon, Director of Finance at LifeStraw. Prior to implementing Aleph, LifeStraw’s financial reporting was heavily reliant on manual exports and processes that swallowed employee time and left more room for human error. It was clear that a more streamlined, efficient solution was needed—an FP&A platform that could match the performance of their innovative filters. It was a tall glass to fill, but Aleph delivered. The results? Monthly close activities we cut down from days to minutes, weekly sales order reports were automated, and they gained much more confidence in their numbers, eliminating countless hours pulling, cleaning, and fact checking exports. 🙌 Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eY_egawW P.S. Check out LifeStraw’s amazing products. Every purchase supports their Give Back program, which has provided access to safe drinking water for over 10 million children in need. 💙

Don’t let overcomplicated tech stand between you and your targets. 🎯 Always be cautious when FP&A tools count their onboarding time in months—or even mention external implementation consultants. Dashboards and BI tools ARE great—we’ve got some exciting news on this front to share in the coming weeks. BUT spreadsheets will always have a special place in financial hearts and hard drives. 📊 Dashboards are pretty. They can make trends easy to spot and provide instant answers and gratification, especially when working with teams outside of finance. 🔎 Spreadsheets provide unmatched flexibility for deeper analysis and modeling, especially when they are connected to real-time financial and operational data. Many businesses try to build a better spreadsheet alternative, but the reality is that many teams will just end up working with the underlying data in a spreadsheet. So which approach is better? The real question is how can they work better together? Modern businesses need the freedom and flexibility to leverage both—allowing different teams to monitor and work with the data based on the jobs to be done and stakeholder preferences. Stay tuned for more news on how spreadsheets and dashboards can live in perfect harmony. 😎

What’s the meaning behind the name Aleph? How do you pronounce it? These are two questions we get asked almost daily. If you have ever been curious, keep reading👇 "The Aleph" is a short story by the Argentine writer and poet Jorge Luis Borges. In it, Borges describes the Aleph as “A point in space that contains all other points. Anyone who gazes into it can see everything in the universe from every angle simultaneously, without distortion, overlapping, or confusion.” While Borges' Aleph story may have been fictional, it’s symbolic of what we set out to build and what modern finance—specifically FP&A—has become:   ▶ FP&A sits at the intersection of tons of company-wide data to understand the past, monitor the present, and predict the future. ▶ Aleph ingests, transforms, and surfaces this data to provide stakeholders with a look into the health of their business from every angle—without distortion, overlapping, or confusion. And as far as the preferred pronunciation, the vast majority of our team and customers say ah·lef 🙌
