Join us Saturday evening for the opening of Unexpected Connections and Serendipitous Encounters: curated by GG & POP INSTITUTE founder Jessica Ann Peavy and Dario Mohr, founder of Anklave Arts Alliance. On view from Oct 19th - Nov 14th, 2024 at GG & POP INSTITUTE, 345 E 104th St. NY, NY 10029. Opening Oct 19th 6pm. This exhibition explores the delicate interplay between control and chance, asking whether we can intentionally create space for serendipity and unexpected connections. The artists featured navigate this tension, balancing external forces of luck with the intimate, enduring process of creation. Through their work, we examine the unpredictability of inspiration and the possibilities that arise when we embrace both the deliberate and the unforeseen.

🌟  Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that GG & POP INSTITUTE is now officially a nonprofit! Located in the heart of East Harlem, GG & Pop is dedicated to fostering intergenerational creativity, sustainability, and wellness. Our space has quickly become a cornerstone for art, design, and wellness, offering a vibrant environment for collaborative projects, educational programs, performances, and curated exhibitions. Our journey began with our founder, Visual Artist Jessica Ann Peavy, who lived in Uptown, New York City for 20 years. During the reflective Covid years, she asked herself, "How can I give back to my local community and make a global impact?" This introspection led to the creation of an artist book for kids, celebrating the power of imagination and featuring children of color. A year later, GG & POP INSTITUTE was born in East Harlem, aiming to create experiences that transcend boundaries and uplift communities. Guided by Jessica's motto, “Art is not an elective. Wellness is not an elective. It is the foundation of our existence,” GG & Pop operates under three pillars: Art, Design, and Wellness.  ✨  Art: Our curated exhibitions and performances invite artists and curators to prototype new ideas or bring existing concepts to fresh audiences for meaningful exchanges. ✨  Design: Our design education program engages elementary and secondary school students with sustainable design thinking workshops. This creative, non-linear process helps students challenge assumptions, redefine problems, and generate innovative solutions. ✨  Wellness: Our wellness programs offer families, communities, and partners a safe, inclusive, and purpose-driven curriculum. Through meditation and yoga, visitors are encouraged to explore their practice at their own pace, fostering self-acceptance and empowerment. Join us on this incredible journey as we contribute to Uptown New York City's creative impact on a global scale. Together, we can drive innovative education, economic growth, and wellness for all. We’re confident that, with your support, we can achieve enduring transformation.
