Numa educated children on the importance of eye health and preventative care through presentations she held at her local library, a community event, and a homeschool co-op. She created a display for her library to use annually during the month of August, which is Children's Eye Health and Safety Month. Congratulations on your #GoldAward and becoming a Gold Award Girl Scout, Numa!

About us
Each Girl Scout experiences her own exciting, life-changing opportunities through our leadership programming. From a nature walk that leads to a career in environmental science to the sale of her first box of Girl Scout Cookies that begins a desire to own her own business, Girl Scouts introduces her to new experiences and new friends while making lasting memories. Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania provides nearly 20,000 girls from 27 counties and many different backgrounds and beliefs with the resources to become tomorrow’s leaders. This is made possible by the dedication of more than 10,000 adult members, 100 full-time staff, 20 board members, and countless supporters, all believing in the power of girls.

My new chapter is an adult volunteer for the troop my mom co-leads. It's growing and I'm so happy to be part of it." - Troop Leader Savannah Wolfenden We're happy to have you, Savannah! 💚

After returning from her exchange year in Thailand, Julia realized there was a general lack of knowledge about high school exchange programs. She organized events and made flyers for her school to educate her community about opportunities for high school students to study abroad, plus information about volunteering and hosting students from other countries. Congratulations on your #GoldAward and becoming a Gold Award Girl Scout, Julia!
