Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas inspires all girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold.
About us
From a young age, girls are confronted with negative messages about their worth and abilities. They experience gender bias, inequality, and discrimination in their neighborhoods, classrooms, and workplaces. Most girls from low-income families have limited exposure to the opportunities and education they need to overcome barriers, achieve success, and break the cycle of poverty. WHAT WE DO Each year, Girls Inc. Dallas provides over 1,000 underserved girls, ages 6-18, with life-changing experiences and solutions to the unique social, economic and gender barriers they face. Our comprehensive programming, known as The Girls Inc. Experience, builds the skills girls need to succeed in school and in college and careers. WHO WE SERVE Each year, Girls Inc. Dallas serves a diverse population of over 1,000 girls ages 6 to 18 from economically disadvantaged Dallas neighborhoods. Currently, 82% are identified as low-to-moderate income. Over 50% of live in households with annual family incomes of $25,000 or less, while 71% live in households with family incomes of less than $30,000. The girls we serve reflect the diversity of our community: 47% Hispanic, 41% African American, 3% White, 1% Asian, and 8% Other/Unknown. WHERE WE WORK We provide our programs at each of our three campuses and our outreach programs at schools and partner organizations. Our afterschool and summer programs take place at our campuses: Oak Cliff – 75208 South Dallas – 75215 Love Field – 75235 Through our outreach programs, middle and high school girls participate in Girls Inc. programming that address their specific needs through partnerships with area school and community organizations. These programs are presented in one-time workshops or as integrated topics within a classroom curriculum. HOW YOU CAN HELP Support our work and the girls we serve by making a gift today, spreading the word about our services and our impact, or volunteering. Visit www.girlsincdallas.org to learn more.

Big thanks to the Dallas Museum of Art and Director of Community Engagement, JC Bigornia for visiting our South Dallas location and leading such an amazing, creative activity for the girls we serve! 🎨✨ Girls had the chance to create stunning portraits using found objects and explore printmaking techniques inspired by Marisol Escobar. They exercised problem-solving, creativity, and even learned engineering skills while making unique artworks of their loved ones and pets! 🖼️ We are so grateful for this enriching experience that brought their artistic talents to life! 💖 #GirlsIncDallas #ArtInTheCommunity #StrongSmartBold

We are so grateful to our friends at Southwest Airlines for going above and beyond by creating period kits and holiday treats for the girls we serve! 💖🎁 With 1 in 5 girls missing school due to lack of access to menstrual products, partnerships like these help promote healthy hygiene practices and empower girls to stay confident and strong every day. Thank you, Southwest Airlines, for helping us break down barriers and support girls and young women in every way! ✨ Amelia A. White Katelynn Waters Andrea Cavanagh DJameal "DJ" R. 🌟 A huge thank you to Councilmember Willie G. Franklin Jr. from the City of Red Oak, former Councilmember Shaunte Allen, MEd, CLDP from the City of Glenn Heights, and Collin County community leader and educator Iro O. for visiting Girls Inc. Dallas and talking to the girls we serve about the power of voting and civic engagement! 🗳️ We’re proud to inspire the next generation of leaders by showing them the impact of voting on both a local and national level. The girls had the opportunity to participate in a mini-election, presenting policies and platforms to better their communities—and we’re thrilled to announce JJ as our new Girls Inc. After School Programs President and Cayleigh as Vice President! 🎉✨ Many of the girls that we serve have bold dreams of running for office one day, and we know they have our vote! 💪 #GirlsLead #SheVotes #GirlsIncDallas #CivicEngagement #FutureLeaders #Vote
