Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
About us
We’re Girl Scouts . We’re 2.8 million strong—2.8 million girls and adults who believe every girl can change the world. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. Today, we continue her vision of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place by helping them discover their inner strength, passions, and talents. And with program activities from coast to coast and across oceans, there’s a chance for every girl to do something amazing. We’re the Girl Scouts. We're rolling out a new talent development pipeline model in partnership with ML Talent Strategies, and this initiative will be led by our new chief people officer, Demekya McAllen! Mekey brings 33 years’ experience at a major retailer, where she served as a senior HR leader. Mekey has a passion for people and the community. She serves on several boards, including the IndyGo Foundation and Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County. She is also a past district governor for District 6560 in Central Indiana for Rotary International. We’re thrilled to have Mekey aboard!
