About us

Girls Incorporated of Jacksonville is an affiliate of a national organization that was founded in 1864 to provide life-changing tools, resources, and support to at-risk girls from low income families. Nationally recognized since 1945, Girls Inc. has focused its efforts on responding to the changing needs of girls and helping break female generational cycles of poverty. We opened our doors in Jacksonville on May 25, 1970 as the Girls Club, which was a pilot project of Pilot Club International. In 1989, following the lead of our national organization, the Girls Club of Jacksonville became Girls Incorporated of Jacksonville. Since this time, the Agency has implemented the research-based healthy living, academic enrichment, and life skills development programs that were created by the Girls Incorporated National Research Center.

  • What better way to enjoy the fall air than by decorating pumpkins 🎃, painting faces 🎨, playing with goats 🐐& and fall themed read aloud 📖! We enjoyed connecting with our Greater Jax Community this past Saturday! • Girls Inc. of Jacksonville extends a heartfelt thank you to Girls Inc. for investing in leadership training for new executives through the Executive Leadership Management Series. Our CEO, Deidra Simon, joined fellow Girls Inc. affiliate CEOs Jennifer Pigza (Girls Inc. of Island City), Catherine Glover (Girls Inc. of Bay County), Natalie Martinez (Girls Inc. of Lynn), and Sharlise Smith-Rodriguez (Girls Inc. of Westchester) for an intensive two-day training hosted by Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis. This training equipped CEOs with the knowledge, skills, and professional development needed to ensure their affiliates provide the highest quality programs and services to the girls we serve. More importantly, it fostered connections, camaraderie, and support among affiliate leaders and the Girls Inc. National team. Thank you to Stephanie Hull, President & CEO of Girls Inc., and her exceptional leadership staff for their commitment to this learning experience. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our outstanding trainers: Niki Kelly (VP of Affiliate Services), Deb Hopkins (Director of Affiliate Services & Expansion), Maria Diaz (Affiliate Engagement Director), and our favorite CEO mentor, Tish Correa-Osborne (Girls Inc. of Owensboro). Your guidance, direction, and friendship have strengthened our entire network, and we are better because of you! #GirlsInc. #ELMS #GirlsIncofJacksonville

  • Despite recent storms, school closures, and the damage our state has faced today, we pause to honor the strength, brilliance, and power of girls in our community and beyond. October 11th marks the International Day of the Girl, and at Girls Inc. of Jacksonville, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering every girl to be strong, smart, and bold. This year's theme, Girls' Vision for the Future, reminds us of the importance of supporting, equipping, and uplifting girls with the tools they need to thrive in their communities. While many of our celebratory events have been postponed, we look forward to raising awareness and championing girls' rights everywhere in the days ahead. A heartfelt thank you to our partners, supporters, volunteers, and friends who support our mission to serve and empower girls! #IDOTG #GirlsInc #GirlsIncJax #EmpowerGirls #StrongSmartBold
