Heading to Portland, Oregon for the GirlzWhoSell Cohort 4 graduation! An amazing group of students from College Hill High School successfully completed the #exploresales program! I’m bursting with pride! Students began this course 10 weeks ago with a sense of curiosity about what a career in #b2b sales might look like. They’ve learned, they’ve grown, they’ve pushed through self-doubt and insecurity, and in the end, they’ve created some of the most amazing sales pitch videos that I’ve seen. They are the future of sales. I believe that to solve for the gender gap in professional sales long term, we need to start having the conversation about sales as a viable career choice earlier in life. We need to dispel the myths about what sales is and what sales isn’t. This is just the beginning. I want to shout out the Principal and Alternative Pathways Coordinator at College Hill, Eric Wright, for believing in our mission and seeing the impact that this program could have on their students. Thanks to the entire College Hill staff who helped to facilitate and deliver content, including Jennifer Smith and Konstantine Birulin. A BIG thanks to Caitlyn Gill (she/her) who introduced me to the College Hill team and dedicated herself to supporting the program. And finally, thanks to all of our mentors who donated their time to support our students. This program does not work without you. 🙏 Shawanda Roberts Cheryl Parks Ginnette Baker Toni Portmann Stephen Mandel Mandy Sullivan Randi-Sue Deckard 🔬 Sarah Rodriguez Rachel Hanson Chelsea Olsen ✨ Nicole Lokey Ayla Ellen Bre S. "Gratitude is the secret to abundance" ~ Cindi Cohn It's Wednesday, and time to share some wisdom y'all. 💡 This week I came across a post from the Queen of Joy, Cindi Cohn who, on a daily basis, fills my feed with doses of happiness. If you don't follow her, you should! I have not met Cindi personally and yet I feel like I know her. That is what I love about the #linkedin community. You can impact people's lives and not even realize it. The power of your words can be transformative if the right person reads them at just the right time. In her post, Cindi said "The secret to having it all is ⬇ ⬇ ⬇ knowing you already do." That is so profound. So often, in our effort to seek more, we lose sight of what we already have. The things, both little and big, right in front of us that we can be grateful for. Thank-you Cindi for bringing #morejoy into the world. I appreciate you 🙏 Ps please check ✅ ✔ ☑ on three people today. It matters. 💯 #mindset

🌟 Happy International Women's Day 🌟 It has been two years to the day since we launched Heels to Deals: How Women Are Dominating in Business-to-Business Sales by GirlzWhoSell and BMH Companies! I was told that it would not work. That a group of "type A" women from diverse backgrounds would not come together and collaborate on a project. Well, we certainly proved the naysayers wrong. Not only did we make it happen, but "Heels" won a Silver from The Stevie® Awards in 2023 for Book of the Year. Boom 💥 This book amplifies the voices of 33 women in sales from around the world. It is a compilation of stories from women who have beat the odds to become successful influencers in the industry. The vast diversity of the featured co-authors aligns with this year's IWD theme: Inspire Inclusion. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let's commit to creating a more inclusive world for women. The time is now. 📌 P.S. "Heels" will be on sale during the Month of March and 10% of all gross sales will be donated to the Barb Giamanco Memorial Scholarship Fund. The work that Chitra is doing throughout India to mentor women, helping them to achieve economic independence through sales, is not only important but groundbreaking. Did you know that January is National Mentor month? That's right!! In honor, I wanted to give a heartfelt shout-out to the GirlzWhoSell Academy Mentor Team who will be supporting Cohort 4 of our #exploresales training program kicking off on February 7th. I am super excited to announce our partnership with the Corvallis School District. We will be launching the first ever high school sales exploration program with College Hill. College Hill is an alternative high school in Corvallis, Oregon. The schools purpose is to help each student develop a framework of accountability that promotes learning and inspires courage to invest in the future. The incredible staff empowers students by providing superior learning opportunities in a unique and exceptional self-paced learning environment. Special thanks to Caitlyn Gill (she/her) for the introduction and facilitation as well as to the entire College Hill staff for making this a reality for their students. We are so excited it is hard to contain ourselves 💃 💃 💃 We are thrilled to announce that GirlzWhoSell has partnered with the brilliant Alexis Rivera Scott and The Fairy Job Mom to create a groundbreaking career readiness course for young women considering a career in professional sales. This program has been something that we have wanted to manifest for over a year. It seemed daunting, but so necessary because these skills are not taught in high school or college. Enter Alexis! When we ran the idea by her she was all in! We could not ask for a better co-creator and partner. Look for GirlzWhoSell Academy's online course, #gethired, to be released in Q2 of this year. We will start pre-enrolling for Cohort 1 in March! Thank-you Alexis for your support and belief in the GirlzWhoSell mission. #womeninsales #hiring

Lack of board diversity? Not at GirlzWhoSell! I am thrilled to announce the 2024 GirlzWhoSell Advisory Board. After being laid off from my job last year and making the decision to transition to full time entrepreneurship, I spent the better part of Q4 talking to prospective board members for GirlzWhoSell. What was important to me (in addition to diversity of course)? ✨ a shared passion for the GirlzWhoSell mission to democratize professional sales and build the largest pipeline of diverse, early stage female sales talent ✨ a commitment to mentoring and providing economic opportunities to young women and girls from underserved and underrepresented communities ✨ expertise in areas that were outside of my zone of genius ✨ unwavering values alignment ✨ a strong desire to jump in feet first to help develop new products, services and strategies that will change the sales profession for good ✨ a sense of humor and flexibility to partner with a scrappy, bootstrapped start-up figuring it out every day Not only did we achieve all of that, we are... 💥 75% women 💥 50% women of color 💥 surrounded by passionate and engaged male allies and #girldadswhosell (credit goes to Daniel Eliasi, MBA of Meta for coining that phrase) I am so honored that this incredible group of humans have agreed to volunteer their time to help us grow. With this kind of support, I truly believe that we are unstoppable. So let's welcome: Shawanda Roberts, Ginnette Baker, Shantel Love, Christine Landry, Jeannetta "Jaybee" Nickelson, Anita Nielsen, Daniel Eliasi, MBA, Kayla Madsen, Jason Cutter, Evangelia Papacostas, Gemma L., Brett Frazer And give them a round of applause. 👏 👏 👏 #sales #womeninsales

Celebrating today. 🎉 January, 2024 is three years since the official launch of GirlzWhoSell. And only a little more than six in every 10 businesses make it to celebrate their three-year anniversary. When I first set-sail on this journey I did not have a roadmap. I simply had a passion. I had a desire to give back to a profession that had been good to me, to position sales as a viable career alternative for young women from diverse backgrounds and to help women and girls achieve the economic independence they so rightly deserved. My hope was that the GirlzWhoSell mission would be embraced and that together we would leave the world a little better place than how we found it. And our success is proof that we had the right message at the right time. As Jim Rohn said "it is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go." I am proud of what we have accomplished and I am excited and encouraged by what the future holds for our organization and the sales profession as a whole. Diversifying sales teams is not only the right thing to do but it is good for business. So thank-you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Without you, we are not here today. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. With your support, we will continue to grow and change the face of sales. #womeninsales #sales #entrepeneurship

Repeat after me: never dim your light to make others feel more comfortable. Merriam-Webster Inc. just announced that its 2023 word of the year is... AUTHENTIC. I am not surprised. People are craving REAL connection. The GirlzWhoSell tagline is #selllikeagirl. Why? Because I want to encourage woman and girls to be their authentic selves. To not play small or diminish who they are to put others at ease. To be vulnerable, transparent and most importantly, to sell and lead with integrity. I know that when you show up as your best self, when you know your worth, and are confident in who you are and the value you bring to the table, that can make some people uncomfortable. It may trigger things in them that they feel inadequate about, which frankly has nothing to do with you. So, no matter what, keep shining bright. Show up authentically each and every day. The world needs that now more than ever. #sales #womeninsales #authentic
