🚨We’re excited to share some great news from a past grant winner‼️ Last November, Giving Joy teamed up with Nathalie Noisette’s - Mental Money podcast to fund a micro grant for Fondation Luc Eucariste (FLE) and Coordination des Femme de Bainet (COFAB) which is a grassroots organization works to enhance education, agriculture, and health services in Bainet, Haiti. 💖 This story is a fantastic example of how one grant’s effects can ripple across families, uplift entire communities and restore hope and joy! #GivingJoy #grants #haiti #nonprofit #donate

Hi #crappyfundingpractices, This is a very important conversation to have but what is stated above is not correct. Giving Joy micro grants are exactly that - micro - they are targeting nascent organizations or individuals who have limited or no experience receiving grants and very limited access to funding. That is why we receive so many applications, despite the small amount, we reach those who are usually not targeted by other donors. A few clarifications- it takes literally 5-10 minutes to fill out the application form. We do give the lump sum of the grant upfront. The reporting requirements are minimal (it is a total of 5 questions). We totally agree that an organization should not spend $100 of a staffer's time on this. We are a very small organization ourselves. All volunteers who put in our own money to make this work. We don't want a prize for our work, but it would be nice if you would fact check some of your messages before you posted them and demoralize an organization that is just trying to do good. We would appreciate a conversation, where we can have the opportunity to fact check and discuss our best practices. Please message us and we are happy to set up a call. All the best, Giving Joy
