    Funding announcement! 📢 A few months ago, we closed our $10M Series A, and today, we’re excited for Axios to share the news! 🗞️ This round was led by the incredible team at TDK Ventures, with continued support from our amazing existing investors, Ibex Investors and Flybridge.   • 🔋 The Molicel P45B is one of the most popular cells with our customers. This cylindrical cell maintains both high energy and high power. But how? 🤔 🤫 One of its secrets: Lots of tabs 🗂️. Tabs provide an electronic pathway 🛣️ between the jellyroll and the terminals.     🩻 It's well known that X-rays can cause damage in humans. But do X-rays damage batteries? 🔋🤕 ⁉️ X-ray beams can damage materials under certain conditions. But we hadn't seen any studies of beam damage in X-ray CT scanning of batteries. So, we decided to look into this ourselves. 📜 In Glimpse's latest study, led by our summer intern Jinhong Min, we show that typical X-ray doses used in CT scanning have no effect on battery performance and lifetime. We cycled cells with 2 minutes of X-ray exposure, 1 hour of X-ray exposure, and a control group and looked as hard as we could for differences.     🔋 Enabling battery quality at scale 🔋 📝 We're excited to announce that our perspective paper was just published in #NatureCommunications! In this paper, we discuss many of the reasons why we started Glimpse in the first place: 1️⃣ Battery safety, reliability, and manufacturability are difficult and critical problems that are all related to battery quality 🧯🏭 2️⃣ Battery failure is extraordinarily complex and can be caused by very subtle defects 🪦 3️⃣ Improved inspection techniques, specifically CT, have a big role to play in solving these issues 🔍 🔗 The link is available in the comments. 🙏🏼 Special thanks to Andrew Weng, Amariah Condon, Mike Chen, Kristen Giuliano, and Shaurjo Biswas for their help!
