Hi! I'm in NYC this week, getting ready to welcome 40 Climate Entrepreneurs from all over the world to join the AFS Youth Assembly as well as participate in a two day entrepreneurship / start-up program delivered by the NYU School of Professional Studies. Some of these entrepreneurs are far along in their journey, others are just starting - what's so cool is at the end of the 2 days in this program, they'll deliver a persuasive pitch that they could bring in front of funders and investors to make their projects a reality or take it to the next level. Our Global Competence Certificate is also offered to this cohort before they arrive in NYC so they can be ready on day 1 for global collaboration, taking their work and dreams across borders. And YES, I am so excited to meet them tonight! I'm sharing here for a couple of reasons: 1) If your university/college or other 18-32 yr olds you know would love to meet young people from over 50 countries while participating in something like this, it's never too early to start organizing a group for next year. August Qualified Facilitator training is a wrap! 20 new facilitators will join our network of over 600 who will utilize the AFS Global Up programs with faculty, staff, students and professionals around the globe. In this cohort, we had participants joining from 10 countries, 8 AFS Network Partners, 2 Global Affiliates and 2 Universities, 1 community college and 1 health care provider. #GlobalCompetence #QualifiedFacilitator #AFSeffect #InterculturalLearning
