On 9/24, Global Citizens Circle hosted Robi and Layla from the American Friends of the Parents Circle - Families Forum. Both mothers - one Israeli, one Palestinian - lost a son in the conflict and have come together to work for peace. Today as GCC’s team leave for the Constellating Peace 2 conference in Sierra Leone, we are especially grateful to all those who overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to work for peace.

At Global Citizens Circle, we value the voices of all people, and on this Indigenous Peoples’ holiday, we hear their voices telling us the truth of their lives. Global Citizens Circle has honored, listened to and learned from Native Americans, who have shared their stories with us – and we celebrate with them for their gift of open and honest truth telling. Be sure to check out our recent blog post written by Theo Spanos Dunfey, as she shares her insights on this day by clicking on this link; https://bit.ly/3Y7wviH

Our thoughts are with the Kennedy family as they mourn the loss and celebrate the extraordinary life of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, Ethel Kennedy. Her daughter Kerry Kennedy and her granddaughter Cara Kennedy-Cuomo accepted on her behalf the Global Citizens Circle award in 2023 (https://bit.ly/3YnKa5J). We remain inspired by and committed to the principles of human rights that she so valiantly championed throughout her life.

At this time of deep reflection, we honor the call of robi damelin (http://bit.ly/4gXT7ec) speaker at Global Citizens Circle's program - Shared Sorrow, Shared Hope - 9/24/24. Please consider supporting the work of the American Friends of the Parents Circle - Families Forum and other organizations that work tirelessly for peace.
Oct 7 day of profound sorrow, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser al-Kidwa lay out a peace plan. With just 10% of Israelis and 6% of Palestinians believing that peace is possible, work of organizations like The Parents Circle Families Forum, Combatants for Peace, Alliance for Middle East Peace - ALLMEP, Women Wage Peace is more vital than ever. Choose to support those trying to end agonizing cycle of cruel violence and war. https://bit.ly/3zZMRC1

GCC celebrates and spotlights Maria Hinojosa for her incredible contributions to journalism and her dedication to amplifying underrepresented voices. As the first Latina in numerous newsrooms, Maria founded The Futuro Media Group in 2010, a nonprofit newsroom in Harlem, NYC. With nearly 30 years of experience and multiple awards under her belt, she continues to educate millions through her work on Latino USA and In The Thick. Maria's commitment to independent journalism from a POC perspective is truly inspiring. Relive the impactful moments from our June 17th circle with Maria Hinojosa, where we explored the depths of injustice and the paths to equity! https://lnkd.in/ekfz73Uw
