Which religious identity is a force for good or a barrier to progress, and where are we headed as a society? Recent controversies within the UK Labour Party over adopting APPG’s definition of “Islamophobia” challenge us to confront these questions head-on. As we witness the turmoil of global events—from the Israel-Palestine conflict to rising tensions in the UK, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sudan and Nigeria—our society grapples with deepening divisions, and we must question the role of religion and law in shaping our identities. Does defining "phobia" restrict open discourse and therefore, stifle societal growth? Join us this week on “Game Changers’ as we revisit a powerful discussion with Lord Indarjit Singh, urging us to reflect on how we define phobia and whether such definitions stifle the very freedoms that religion was meant to uphold. Join us for this thought-provoking conversation. Listen to the complete podcast from the link in comments.

Big Dawgs by HanumanKind AKA Sooraj Cherukat, the Indian rapper who not only topped the global chart but also briefly outpaced Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us. What's the reason behind it? Let's discuss it one by one. Firstly, cultural fusion plays a significant role. HanumanKind blends American hip-hop influences with Indian motifs, creating a unique sound that resonates globally. Secondly, the visual storytelling in the music video, filmed at the "Maut ka Kuan" (Well of Death) in Kerala, captivates viewers with its daring stunts and vibrant imagery, enhancing the song's appeal. Finally, the viral nature of the track on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, has propelled its popularity, leading to a surge in streams and searches, further solidifying HanumanKind's position in the global music scene.

China pledged $50 billion in support for Africa during the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, as announced by President Xi Jinping. This funding, amounting to $50.7 billion, will be allocated over the next three years, with over half designated for loans and $11 billion for various types of assistance. Xi emphasized the aim to create at least one million jobs in Africa and deepen cooperation across sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, and trade. The summit, attended by over 50 African leaders, also resulted in numerous bilateral agreements, highlighting China's commitment to strengthening its ties with the continent, which it views as crucial to its global strategy. Now the question is how efficiently Africa manages these funds?

John McCarthy, a Stanford University Computer Scientist, describes Artificial Intelligence as “the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to biologically observable methods." Essentially, artificial intelligence aims to mimic human intelligence and thought processes through complex computer systems and algorithms. So the question remains: how can these ‘artificial’ thingamajigs be used to diagnose autism? Read an opinion piece by Samar Takkar from the comment section.
