In a highly unexpected move late last Friday afternoon, a total of $2.27bn of new QDII quota was announced. Over a total of 53 individual companies, however, issuance at the firm level was relatively small. That should not take away from what Peter Alexander views as a refocusing on cross border investment programs by policy makers. While he readily acknowledges that a single data point does not make a trend, in this video he does go on to address the real potential for upcoming changes to both the Wealth Connect and Mutual Recognition programs. Mediators are inherently adaptive. Their work is grounded in the world as it is and, in their support of conflict parties and others seeking to move from war to peace, necessarily imbued with hope of what the world of tomorrow might become. Yet the policy and practice of mediation have struggled to keep pace with the changing realities of conflict and global politics. The value of mediation as a tool to facilitate political solutions to violent conflict is therefore under severe pressure. Accord 30 examines the evolving meditation landscape and explores how innovative approaches can be adopted to engage armed groups, navigate a rapidly changing digital environment, and ensure diverse views are incorporated into peace processes. Impressed with how much work they put in preparing for it and how realistic all of their responses were in a crisis game over South China Sea.. Crisis games are not just for students to see ideas in practice.. But an important tool for governments as well as companies in thinking through scenarios and risks and their preparations for them. Forecasting future and developing water tight plans might be an ambitious and at times unrealistic goal, but developing strategic resilience, skills to respond to crises, learning to think about possibilities and steps ahead are not.
