As the world’s largest online fundraising platform, GoFundMe and Classy are always studying new trends on how people donate, and creating solutions to make giving easier and more impactful than ever. Recently, we uncovered exciting new patterns in the ways supporters of different generations choose to give, share, and interact with causes they care about. You can read the full report on our website, but here's some of what we learned about Gen Z: As the first generation of true digital natives, Gen Z is unsurprisingly more inclined to support their favorite causes online. They stand out as the most active generation donating on social platforms. However, beyond giving, Gen Z views social media as a way to advocate for the causes they believe in: 🫶 Gen Z is 10x more open to sharing that they donated on social media than Boomers. 🫶 In fact, 46% of Gen Z surveyed believe people should share donations online to help spread the word and inspire others. 🫶GoFundMe research shows that every time an organizer shares their fundraiser, this can help drive an $100 toward their goal, on average. Read the Social State of Giving report and let us know in the comments what resonates with you and your community: https://gfme.co/408jp7I

With half of Gen Z sharing causes or fundraisers at least once a week, and at least half of millennials and Gen X sharing monthly, we know enabling easy donation experiences through social media is critical. That’s why we’re thrilled to team up with Meta to launch innovative new sharing features meant to drive more donations to nonprofits. Through this first-of-its-kind collaboration, donors and nonprofits using GoFundMe’s software company, Classy, can more easily share the causes they care about on Instagram. These features will be available on GoFundMe for fundraisers supporting charities soon, too. Learn more about enhanced social sharing with Meta: https://gfme.co/4hqzP1w For more on how Gen Z views social media as a way to advocate for the causes they believe in, see our Social State of Giving report -- out now: https://gfme.co/408jp7I

Did you know that 83% of people don’t know about Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), a great tool for philanthropic giving? DAFs are charitable savings accounts with tax advantages that donors can contribute to or donate from as often as they like. By planning donations, people are able to give nearly twice as much to the causes they care about. DAFs can be used to donate to a range of causes – whether you want to give to your local food bank or charity, or to disaster relief like the many nonprofits supporting those impacted by #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton. For #DAFDay, GoFundMe is joining a collaborative group of nonprofits, fundraising platforms, and DAF providers to lead the call to activate and unlock DAF dollars for a day of unprecedented generosity. Margaret L. Richardson, GoFundMe’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, shares more on the impact of DAFs and how GoFundMe makes it easy to give through our DAFpay feature: “From local food pantries to global organizations responding to humanitarian disasters and health crises, nonprofits are working tirelessly to drive lasting impact and address critical issues. Yet billions of dollars remain unused in DAF accounts. By simplifying and expanding DAF giving, GoFundMe is dedicated to making it easier for people to direct these funds to the causes that need them most and connecting nonprofits with the support they urgently need.” Learn more : https://gfme.co/3BFS7LG #DonorAdvisedFunds #Philanthropy #CharitableGiving #GivingBack #SocialImpact
