Spent a great couple days at the Golf Inc. Strategies Summit in Hilton Head, diving into the business side of golf. The strength and future of this sport and its evolving platform blew me away. What truly excited me were the innovations and transformative power of data in the industry. Thankful for the fantastic speakers, panels and networking. For those of you who have ever paused for a moment during your latest golf experience (TopGolf, buddies trip, a round with your kids?) to think about how it all comes together, or might get better, here's what I discovered - the golf industry business is fascinating and complex, with capital strategies, innovative operating and delivery models, HR challenges, shifting demographics, and more. Bottom line: the golf business is both robust and evolving, with a concerted effort and focus on making it accessible, fun, and sustainable. Two of my takeaways highlight the importance of data and innovation to enhance engagement and growth in sport I am so passionate about. #1. There's a lot to be optimistic about, with participation levels across all platforms soaring to all-time highs. Data from the National Golf Foundation reveals the growing funnel of people picking up a golf club, amplified by women, juniors, and more diversity. …This is encouraging! The more people getting into the game the better #2. The increasing focus on innovation and data is revolutionizing engagement across golf entertainment venues, hospitality, and both public and private courses. Ensuring golf remains accessible, inclusive, and fun is key to sustaining this momentum. …This is super exciting!
