⭐️Mission Moment⭐️ William is a local high school student who completed a 32-hour work experience at Coy’s Comics. During his time working, William helped alphabetize and prepare over 11,000 comic books for the store to sell! While he had fun, William also learned important work skills such as staying focused on the task at hand and how to carefully handle merchandise. Great work, William!

🌟Mission Moment🌟 Nicholas is an individual who was referred to Goodwill of Mid-Michigan in Caro for the opportunity to do an On-the-Job Evaluation in our store as a part of getting back into the routine of working a regular position. He is given the opportunity with this work evaluation to improve on not only job skills but social skills also. Since Nicholas’ injury, he has been anxious to get back into the workforce but also anxious on how he could perform. As time went on, staff became more and more impressed with how Nicholas was reliable and how consistent he was with his work. 👚 Goodwill Industries International is seeking to help build out North America’s threadbare textile recycling infrastructure. Goodwill found that 60% of the cotton, polyester and polycotton textiles it can’t sell can be turned into new textiles with existing mechanical or chemical recycling technologies. “Now, those aren’t necessarily recycling technologies that are built out in all the markets, but those are available today, which was enormously encouraging,” Goodwill President and CEO Steven C. ⭐️Mission Moment⭐️ Shianna was referred to Goodwill through the Work Based Learning Experience program from Michigan Rehabilitation Services to do a work experience. She was given an opportunity to work hands-on and learn valuable skills like time management, working in a team and working as an individual. Shianna has made great strides while leaning at the Goodwill store. This experience has given her the opportunity to not only work on her job skills but also her social skills.
