Our mission is to put people to work.
About us
Goodwill of North Georgia, a 501(c)(3) corporation, provides job training and employment services to people who are having trouble finding work, want to change careers, or start their own business. With the agency’s support, Goodwill participants overcome employment hurdles caused by physical, emotional and developmental disabilities, limited job skills, poverty and other challenges. We sell donated clothing, books, furniture and household goods in stores across North Georgia, and the proceeds help fund our mission to put people to work. Since 1925, your donations have been helping to change lives.

We unveiled our new AI virtual welding and forklift simulators at the Woodstock Career Center yesterday. Thanks to a $400,000 investment from the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners through the ARPA grant, and the unwavering support of our local communities, we are expanding our programs to serve you better. By incorporating this innovative technology, the simulators will offer participants additional practice time before they engage in hands-on training. This method enhances their skills and prepares them for jobs in high-demand industries. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gfZk9bgR

Matthew Alston, Groundsman, FS - NARA was nominated by Greg Mathis as our September Team Member of the Month. Matthew is being recognized for demonstrating our values of Service, Excellence, Ethics, and Accountability. Matthew exemplifies our value of service both by diligently serving our customers and by serving his community where he helps hearing impaired kids and mentors them. He is also co-owner of a hearing-impaired basketball team that travels and participates in annual tournaments. Matthew’s commitment to excellence is demonstrated by his value for continual improvement. He is constantly looking for areas to grow and says he desires to be a Lead at NARA one day.
