Meet Angel! 👋 Angel began his career at Los Angeles Angels Stadium in March 2024. Starting as a food runner for the club seats, his job included monitoring app orders and delivering them directly to customers' seats. At first, Angel struggled with pronouncing names correctly and often rushed orders, sometimes causing errors and delays in service. To help overcome these challenges on the job, Angel began receiving job coaching from Goodwill of Orange County. His job coach helped him develop a clear game plan to address his areas of need, frequently checked in on him, provided encouragement, and was Angel's biggest advocate. This support was crucial in building Angel's confidence and on-the-job skills. He learned to navigate the stadium sections effortlessly, how to improve his delivery efficiency, recognize the best times to deliver orders, and how to balance items on the running tray properly. Over time, Angel's growth became apparent to everyone on the team. He started helping his coworkers find seats and showed them how to balance items on the tray. His manager noticed his progress and began preparing him for more responsibilities, with the goal of training him for a lead position. Angel is now excited about his future, ready to take on new challenges, and show his job coach his progress and potential in his new role. His journey from nervousness to confidence and leadership is truly inspiring! 🙌💙 Way to go, Angel!

Beth Welsh-Hostetler has been a remarkable presence in my life since my move to Los Angeles from Washington, D.C. Initially, I became acquainted with her through her husband, a colleague with whom I shared many professional experiences. However, it wasn’t long before Beth emerged from the periphery of my social circle to become a cherished friend. Our bond has grown stronger over time, fueled by mutual respect, shared values, and a profound admiration for her character. What stands out most about Beth is her unwavering commitment to caring for others. She possesses a unique ability to empathize with those around her, always putting their needs and aspirations at the forefront. Beth has dedicated her professional life to empowering and advocating for her clients, ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to thrive. This commitment is not just a professional obligation for her; it is a deeply ingrained aspect of her character. She approaches each challenge with compassion and diligence, demonstrating an innate understanding of the complexities that her clients face. I have had the privilege of witnessing Beth’s professional and personal journey unfold over the years. She has navigated challenges with grace and determination, continually seeking opportunities for growth and development. Her resilience is inspiring, and her achievements are a testament to her hard work and dedication. Whether it’s through her advocacy work or her personal endeavors, Beth has flourished in ways that are both impressive and inspiring. I am incredibly proud of Beth and all that she has accomplished. Her ability to uplift others while pursuing her own goals reflects a rare balance that few manage to achieve. As she continues to advocate for her clients and foster meaningful connections, I have no doubt that she will make an indelible impact on the lives of many. Congratulations to Beth for her remarkable journey thus far; I am excited to see what the future holds for such a talented and caring individual.

Looking back 🔙 in 2016, we made history with the opening of the Thomas T. and Elizabeth C. Tierney Center for Veteran Services, a comprehensive resource for all veterans and their family members. Today, The Tierney Center has served more than 4,000 veterans since its opening and has become a model for collaborative, holistic veteran care to other service providers across the nation.
