  • ICYMI: Aimee Grace Mitchell is using the GPS model to help refugees recover from the trauma of war and forced displacement, and rebuild their lives in a new country. The founder of Places to Thrive said GPS’ unique approach to group dynamics—specifically, creating a space where people can share without advice or interruption—was key to getting participants to really open up about their experiences: “As I watched people share, I was blown away. As people talked, it was as if they were exhaling for the first time in a long time,” Mitchell said. “As a clinician I’d never really thought about what it means to listen but not give advice in a group. But based on what I witnessed in the groups, I think it’s incredibly liberating for people.” More: [bit.ly/4dqQuiV]<http://bit.ly/4dqQuiV> #PeerSupport #MentalHealth
