Gracent cares about helping children meet their goals through personalized, evidence-based therapies. We operate and work alongside a network of providers of pediatric therapies, including Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy, Mental Health Services, and Neuropsychology.
We’re thrilled to celebrate the opening of North Shore Pediatric Therapy’s new center in Elmhurst! Expanding into new communities is a core part of our mission at Gracent—bringing compassionate, specialized pediatric therapy services to local families and creating meaningful career opportunities for the area.
Every new center represents an incredible team effort. From Gracent’s expertise in logistics, planning, and construction to our dedicated marketing and recruiting teams, each department plays a role in building a center that feels like a place where children can thrive. Our commitment to assent-based care means we’re bringing services that empower children and honor each unique journey, providing support in a way that truly resonates with families.
We’re so proud of the work that goes into each new center and excited to bring services and job opportunities to Elmhurst. Here’s to creating meaningful change and helping children grow!
North Shore Pediatric Therapy is excited to announce our new Elmhurst center is officially open! Located in downtown Elmhurst, our beautiful new facility offers a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary pediatric services, including ABA therapy for autism.
We are also thrilled to have our Elmhurst Clinical Director, Christina Fick, MA, BCBA, leading the team! Christina brings a wealth of expertise and dedication, ensuring that the Elmhurst center delivers the highest quality care and support to children and their families.
With our commitment to providing assent-based, family-centered care, we know our Elmhurst center will continue our mission of supporting all children in their pediatric therapy journey!
This week, some of us on the leadership team came together in Austin for an offsite, reflecting on the year and looking ahead to the road before us. It’s become a tradition around here: a dedicated time to talk about not just where we’re going, but how we’re going to get there together.
We shared stories of team wins, proud moments, and big ideas. One common theme kept coming up: How do we build more than just a career for our team members? How do we create a place where people feel they’re truly part of something bigger—where they feel heard, supported, and valued?
With that in mind, our conversation flowed into new training programs, clearer career paths, and ways to make every voice count. We focused on building a company with heart, integrity, and purpose for everyone involved.
As we wrap up this year and start setting up the next, we’re ready to keep raising the bar for our clients and our incredible teams. Here’s to ending strong and starting even stronger!

Thanks, Tara Zeller, MS, BCBA, IBA, for bringing up these important questions that every Behavior Therapist should ask in an interview—we agree! In the interest of being transparent and open, we want everyone to easily know the answers before they even chat with us! Here’s our approach:
🧾 W2 Employment and Benefits:
We hire our RBTs as W2 employees, allowing us to offer consistent support and benefits that aren't available to 1099 contractors. This also means you'll be part of our team and eligible for perks like health insurance and PTO.
🔎 Supervision for RBTs:
Our current supervision rate across the organization is 12%, significantly exceeding the BACB’s 5% requirement. Our BTs and RBTs benefit from ongoing guidance and support from experienced BCBAs, with regular check-ins to help ensure your success.
📚 Client-Specific Training and Ongoing Support:
In addition to the initial onboarding, you'll receive detailed client-specific training tailored to each child’s needs. This includes comprehensive instructional notes to prepare you for every session. We also have full-time fieldwork students whose main focus is to ensure continuous onboarding and training, providing ongoing support for client-specific programming as needs evolve over time.
💵 Cancellation Payment Policy:
Yes, we do! We have processes built in to allow both full-time and part-time therapists to be compensated at a rate higher than their administrative rate to cover the time from canceled sessions.
📅 Work Hours & Scheduling Consistency:
We offer a highly flexible scheduling process. Our dedicated scheduling team works to accommodate your availability and personal commitments, ensuring you get the hours you want. We don’t use block schedules, allowing you to maintain balance with home life, school, and other activities.
We hope this answers some of the key questions future RBTs North Shore Pediatric Therapy and Pine Cone Therapies may have about working with us! If you have any other questions, feel free to drop them in the comments below—we’re happy to share more and keep the conversation going!

RBTs: Don’t go into your next interview without asking these 5 game-changing questions! ⬇️
You already know—not all ABA companies are created equal.
While some are fantastic places to work, others can be more focused on billing hours than supporting their team.
To avoid ending up at a company that leaves you feeling frustrated and unsupported, remember this: during your next interview, you’re interviewing them just as much as they’re interviewing you!
Because of the immense demand for services in the ABA industry, the balance of power often tips toward the interviewee.
With cases going unstaffed, companies are losing money and are motivated to hire quickly. As a result, sometimes they may gloss over details (like unpaid drive time) just to get you in the door.
That’s why it’s so important to come prepared with questions!
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 5 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐤:
1- Can you clarify whether your company hires RBTs as 1099 independent contractors or W2 employees?
2- How does your company ensure RBTs receive the minimum 5% supervision required by the BACB?
3- Beyond initial onboarding, what kind of client-specific training can I expect if hired?
4- What’s your cancellation payment policy?
Specifically, will I be compensated if a client cancels a session?
5- Can you provide an estimate of my work hours once I begin? And how do you maintain consistency in scheduling?
The more information you have, the better your decision will be when choosing where to work.
So do your research, ask plenty of questions, and make sure you’re making the right choice for 𝘺𝘰𝘶.
Be sure to save this post for your next interview and let me know in the comments below your must ask interview question! 👇🏼

Assent-based care is not just a trend—it’s how we approach therapy for kids with developmental needs. Across ABA, Speech, OT, PT, and Mental Health, we are challenging the old models and placing the child’s voice and autonomy at the center of everything we do.
In our recent all-team call, we dedicated time to discussing, training, and hearing from the experts within our organization. It was a powerful opportunity to dive deeper into what it means to respect a child's boundaries, be flexible, and create goals that are meaningful to their lives.
At Gracent, this is how we grow: through collaboration, reflection, and a commitment to lead the charge in evolving care for children. When we come together to share our insights, we’re creating a space where this magic happens—and it shows in the care we provide every day.
How are you making sure the children in your care have a voice? Let’s discuss!
