The Industry Scholars Program recently held its Partner Celebration Breakfast at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe in Yankee Stadium to recognize the outstanding work-based learning opportunities offered by its host partners. This event celebrated the dedication of these partners in providing meaningful internships and mentorship to NYC high school students. Attendees heard from our incredible partners at NYC Department of Education , ISP team members, host employers, and former student participants, all sharing impactful stories and insights. With delicious food prepared by students from Food and Finance High School, the event was a true testament to the value of gratitude and personal connections. It's Workforce Development Month and we're celebrating by sharing a recent success story from the Bronx Business Solutions Center team. A local retail business in the Bronx was seeking loans and grants to help with their business expansion plans. Thanks to the help of the Bronx NYC Department of Small Business Services team, business owner Emelvin was able to secure a loan and credit line, which helped him to acquire essential new supplies, create jobs, and optimize his operations.
