We'd like to give a huge shoutout to GrantWorks' President, Bruce Spitzengel, and our Executive Vice President of Operations, Steve Mataro, for giving up their Saturday morning to participate in the Texas General Land Office’s Adopt-A-Beach program in Galveston, TX! Adopt-A-Beach is an all-volunteer program dedicated to preserving and protecting Texas beaches. Bruce and Steve arrived last Saturday before dawn to set up tables and provide goodies to all of the volunteers. We appreciate our company leaders going the extra mile to make a difference in our communities and represent #TheGrantWorksWay! Disaster Recovery Perspectives: This month, we are not only celebrating GrantWorks' 45-year anniversary but also commemorating 45 years of #TheGrantWorksWay that's empowered communities across the nation to recover from natural disasters and build stronger, more resilient futures. Our success is a testament to the dedication of team members like Sherie Goin Marks, our Associate Vice President of State Programs. Sherie joined GrantWorks in 2020 and is celebrating her own anniversary of 40 years working in disaster recovery and community development. Sherie is a subject matter expert and operation specialist in grant, financial, case, and construction management. She oversees all aspects of federal, state, and locally funded programs throughout Texas, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Louisiana, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Sherie has been involved in some of the largest disaster responses in history such as Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey, Super Typhoon Yutu, and Typhoon Mangkhut. She has managed 1,000+ programs to help families improve their quality of life while rehabbing, reconstructing, and revitalizing their homes and communities. Sherie's wide range of experience and dedication to her work make her an invaluable member of our disaster recovery team.
