  • GLCAC is thrilled to have received a $32,494 Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund Planning Grant from the Healey-Driscoll Administration to plan and develop workforce training programs. GLCAC will use these funds to plan and design activities to prepare un/underemployed workers for Personal Care Assistant positions. We will be collaborating with local community partners to ensure the success of this initiative and to help participants achieve meaningful employment in this critical field. We are grateful for the support we receive from the state to fund these programs. The grants are funded by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and administered by the Commonwealth Corporation.

  • GLCAC is pleased to recognize Jadihel Taveras during Hispanic Heritage Month. Jadihel is the Head of School at Esperanza Academy in Lawrence. Growing up with parents born in the Dominican Republic, Jadihel came to understand that opportunities in this world are not distributed equally. His family’s story taught him the power of perseverance and the importance of community, and it ignited in him a passion to contribute to creating opportunities for those who have been born into communities that are historically underserved. He believes that everyone deserves a chance to thrive, and always wanted to play a part in opening doors for others, in whatever small way he could.
