📚 Lawrence Public Library Achieves State Aid Certification 🎉 The Lawrence Free Public Library has achieved a major milestone, being certified for the full State Aid Program requirements for the first time in 15 years. This certification allows the library to receive over $240,000 in state funding, which will be used to support essential services, technology, staffing, and other local library needs. This achievement not only strengthens the library’s future but also enhances access to over 59 million items available statewide through the shared library system. The achievement was made possible through the combined efforts and dedication of Library Director Janelle Abreu, Mayor Brian A. De Peña, the Board of Trustees, Lawrence City Council, and the entire Library team. Congratulations to all who contributed to making this long-awaited milestone a reality! Last month, Lawrence CommunityWorks, Inc. celebrated the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the stunning New Balance Foundation SquashBusters Center & The Armand Michael Hyatt Apartments (Phase 2)! The New Balance Foundation SquashBusters Center marks a historic moment as the first facility wholly owned and operated by SquashBusters in its 28-year history. The ribbon-cutting celebration, attended by over 150 community members and local leaders, highlighted the collaborative effort of key partners, including Lawrence CommunityWorks and the NEW BALANCE FOUNDATION, to create a space that will empower and inspire the next generation of students.
