Our mission is to to solve our community’s greatest challenges by providing grants and scholarships, and by helping individuals, families, and organizations create their charitable legacy. We serve nonprofits in Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell. Last week was the kickoff of our 19th Annual Youth Philanthropy Council! This program allows seniors from area high schools to learn about responsible grantmaking, our local nonprofits, and the urgent needs those nonprofits serve. The students will give out $15,000 in grants this spring to organizations serving youth and children. Thank you to Wells Fargo Advisors for supporting this program, to Central Virginia Community College for hosting our meetings, and for our excellent Advisory Committee for guiding students through this process.
